New Basketball Courts opened at Lietzenseepark

The newly redesigned basketball courts at Lietzenseepark in Berlin-Charlottenburg were officially opened on August 25, 2026. Together with the Orlando Magic, Berlin Dreams DBV Charlottenburg and the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, a sports venue has been created that brings together basketball, design and public space. smb equipped both courts with URBN HOOP® streetball hoops.
A special day for basketball in Berlin: On August 25, 2026, the newly redesigned basketball courts at Lietzenseepark were officially opened. With the support of the Orlando Magic, the existing sports facility in Berlin-Charlottenburg was redesigned to create a place for sports, community and shared play.
We are pleased to be part of this project and to have equipped both courts with our URBN HOOP® streetball hoops. The design of the hoops was specifically adapted to the visual identity of the Orlando Magic and Berlin Dreams, allowing the basketball equipment to complement the new appearance of the courts.
At the opening, we had the opportunity to experience the hoops under real conditions. The courts quickly filled with players, with plenty of shots being taken, games being played and the new facilities being put to the test. For us, it was particularly rewarding to see how a newly redesigned space immediately became an active place for the basketball community.
The project demonstrates the importance of well-designed and high-quality sports facilities in public spaces. A basketball court is not only a place to play, but can also serve as a meeting point, a space for movement and a place with which the local community can identify.
We would like to thank the Orlando Magic, Berlin Dreams DBV Charlottenburg and the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district for the great cooperation. We are pleased that the new courts are now open to Berlin's basketball community.
