German Innovation Award 2026 for the URBN HOOP®

The URBN HOOP® has been awarded the German Innovation Award 2026. The jury honored the project as “Winner” in the category “Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements.”
Following the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, the Red Dot Award 2026, the ISPO Award 2025 and the Designpreis Brandenburg, this marks the fifth major award for the URBN HOOP®.
What makes this award particularly significant is its focus on the actual innovative performance of the system. Among the aspects evaluated were the newly developed net system, the wear-optimized construction of the transition areas, the reduction of maintenance requirements, and the combination of functionality, material quality and playing experience.
The award therefore recognizes not only the design quality of the URBN HOOP®, but also its practical value for public spaces. Durability, operational reliability and reduced maintenance requirements are especially important factors for municipalities and operators of public sports facilities.
Receiving several national and international awards within such a short period of time is anything but ordinary for a product in the field of streetball and sports infrastructure. We are therefore especially pleased by the recognition of the development work carried out over the past years.
From the first prototypes through construction, manufacturing and installation to testing, surfaces, packaging and communication, this project reflects a great deal of shared effort and attention to detail. For this reason, the award not only belongs to the product itself, but also to all colleagues who contributed to the development of the URBN HOOP® along the way.
